Eeeeeeeeeeeeks!!!

I step out of the shower and go into my room, only to be confronted with a spider on my wall.
It stops crawling.
Staring at me, since I am dressed only in a towel.
Naughty lil spidey!
I need to set it free in the wilderness.
I decide that I must kill it.
But I can’t do it.
I keep trying but stopping halfway.
When I finally get my nerve up and strike, it jumps OFF the wall, lets a web loose, and slips down behind my bed.
I’m late.
I put on my clothes, and what do I see...
It’s still in there, waiting for me.

It’s been too long since I went underwater.

I’m deep in every imaginable state – work, criticism, insomnia.
It’s been one helluva month, and it can only get better, or worse, depending on how you see it from here. White skies, blue skies, black skies, red skies, sunsets and sunrises – the same palette every day. I don’t bother to take notice anymore. I’m getting acquainted with my nocturnal side by the day, and the eerie silence is only that much of a comfort. I listen to what other people don’t hear, and it’s my own little world.

Bring it on. Just don’t bother.

Don't bother, my nocturnal side just brushed sides with yours...so.. cool blog anyways, will keep coming back for more such cold sandwiches. :) YOu take care.

Perhaps…

… it's the way the bored cashier never even bothers to flip over your credit card or maybe it's the fact that they never look you in the eye and practically throw the card back at you once it goes through that I get the feeling that the whole ‘sign your credit card slip’ is just a mere formality so that the store can get money, even if it's not yours… I don’t wanna have a credit card!

  • P.S.: Oh, that's one big sentence man!!!
  • P.P.S.: I really don't have a credit card.
  • P.P.P.S.: Would anyone like to give me a free impulsive shopping facilitatating credit card where I dont get to see the bill?

6.12 PM

He dashes in, breathless, rushing to me.

But this time its different…

Confusion plays upon his flushed face.
A question mark hovers around a circumference of four inches above his eyes.
Eager eyes.
Quivering voice.
"I’m sorry I’m late."
"It’s all because of me."
"I can explain."
"I know it’s not fair to make you wait."
"But just don’t be mad at me, please. "

And I hadn’t even spoken a word!

Ant it ok for him to be late once in a while? Or is it just that can’t wait to get a glimpse of me?

Where his tongue once was, her taste remained.

So this was the curse of love, he thought. He tasted, hungered, and longed for more, but she never returned.

The minutes numbered to hours in the springtime shower, the monsoon rain, the winter snow.

The hours became days, and he stared out of glass, into glass, through people, through shops, down streets, up to heaven, down at hell, but he never saw a thing.
Not a shadow, no note, no glass slipper, no messages on the phone. No nothing.

The days numbered to months, the months numbed into years until one day.

It was gone.

Temme something... if you can feel our own blood trickling down your tongue, would you be called a vampire???

The thing is that blood is the only thing that provides them sustenance. Their body is all muscle and blood, no bones. So like it or not, they have to suck it (literally!).

I think I’m psychotic, somehow. Everything’s too crazy lately.

Yes, no, maybe.

Just yesterday I suffered from something like a withdrawal syndrome. I think I had too much sugar the day before. I got off the bed feeling this horrible discomfort for an hour. Got some chocolate (damn that product) and felt quite better.

It’s weekend already. And I need to sleep lesser than my usual dose 12 hours a day. Should I? That’s one thing I really love indulging in, other than music and depression.

I was wondering if things were going too fast.

Like when you’re on a train in the subway and those posters outside flash by.

Too fast for you to look clearly.
Too slow for you to ignore.

Leaving a clear nagging feeling that you’re probably missing out on something.
But you’re too occupied to find out.

And the next time you’re on that train again, you try to catch a glimpse again, but you still cant figure out.

That’s just the way it was.
That’s the way I like things to be.
In fact, that’s the way everything in life should be.

Making you wanna say…
"STOP"
"FREEZE"
"STAY FOREVER"

There goes another day in endless locomotion, trying to catch up on the things we’ve missed.
I’d rather work now and think about it later.

Things are the way they are..
The train moves fast because it has reach on time
The company whose poster is on the wall should be wondering why the hell is he on that wall??
And we keep thinking is the train too fast or the poster still invisible
Keep trying to concentrate on the poster.
The train will slow down on day and you will see the poster
I doubt wether it would the same poster which you were trying to watch
Could be a new one
Who cares..
The train has slowed down

I can’t wait to see what to see what will happen in the end. Just can’t. Can’t wait for a few more years. Can’t persuade myself to go through this the way everybody does.

Think impatience will invade. Think the wait is over. Think I’ll flip. Think I’ll go to the end without reading the pages in between.

Is the process irreversible? Will the end be the same anyway? Does anyone except me care anyway?

Will I? Can I? Should I?

I know exactly why I don’t blogsurf.

(I don’t know why I do, but as long as I know why I don’t… I guess it's ok!)

  • I wonder why people find it somewhat comforting when they come to know that there are people who go through the same things you do?
  • Why would you find it reassuring to know that you’re not the only one feeling the way you are?
  • Why would you want to know if there are people who share common experiences and common frustrations?
  • Why would you want to read someone go on and on about how miserable their lives are and how lonely the world is and a whole lot of crap?
  • Why would you want to grab a chance read stories written by complete strangers, who think blogs are a way to articulate what happens in their lives? Isn’t that close to invading their privacy?

But do blogs really bring us closer to each other? Is this is what ties the world up, together?

15 Comments:

Blogger @$#!$# said...

i dont know if blogs really bring the world closer...but yes, it feels nice to know if there are more people like you.

and its a good way to make friends..meet nice people, share thoughts...etc.

oh, and u r not poking into someone's private life...its just that they are telling it themselves...nothing wrong with it!

J: Thats one whole lot of whys! But I don't think I'd be able to explain why for any of those questions. I think blogs DO bring us closer. You come into contact with a lot of like minded people and some of these become permanent for life, I hope. See, on a blog, you are reading how someone feels about something. What better way to get to know someone than to read their thoughts? I don't think people would go to such pains to attract ppl by falsifying their thoughts! If they are that clever/crooked, then they might as well do the same without blogging! So blog might be one answer to your last question...

12:19 am
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hmmm..i think what u say about blogs is somewhat right..that you finid a bit comforating to know that someone is like you anad gone through what u going through...but then it tells u more about that person...he/she may be a complete stranger, but u sometimes find new approaches to a problem u have faced...it gives you an extra vision...an elaboration to your thoughts...you need to let go ur mind....u try to wrap it.it will try harder to unwrap....

whoa.. so many questions! everybody will try to answer them thinking they have figured it out.. but then each one of us is unique. each one has to find his own answers.. but then there are some ppl who dont know how to figure it out.. so they blogsurf.
not everyone can give words to their thots.. and even if they do, its never complete. so they blogsurf.
and then there are some ppl who pretend, who are smart enuf or as anti said.. crooked enuf.. but i dont think they have vicious intentions..its actually quite an art.. and its just this art that they wanna exercise..u can compare it to writing novels or poetry..sketching characters..

But yes, they do bring (like minded) people closer.....a blog ring becomes more like a small community....and if there are some bloggers meets then they to contribute to the above mentioned point

You’ll never know how amazing life is until you’ve been in my shoes today.

Yet tomorrow I’ll be struggling to lose what I’ve found.
Ha!
There’s always a little pleasure that creeps up on me at the most unexpected moments, even when all that not-so-nice feeling is upon me, spreading all over the place.

What I feel right now is something so weird. It shouts "jamais vu"
Leaving me… unruffled, placid, staid.

Right now, on the other side of the earth, someone’s looking up at the same sky, in the same direction, wondering why he’s not living the life I’m living.

Meanwhile, it’s evening over here and I’m wondering why I’m not living the life he’s living.

We concur – It’s a disappointing world to live in.

Grass is always greener on the other side... And when we are there, we realize what we had before was much better...

"jamais vu", Whats that ?

Btw, your ambigram is done. I shall see if I can scan it today and send it across. Or at least take a pic and mail it.

so true.. lets exchange roles for a while.. till we realize grass is not that green on the other side :)

till then, instead of arriving at the conclusion lets live in illusion. lets extend that little pleasure .. for sometime more.

I just woke up after a hasty shower.

Everything’s wet with a moody dampness – the roads, the cars, the trees, the houses… everything

It feels like the stillness that hangs around after the rain has stopped, juxtaposed against what just a few moments ago was frantic activity in a frenzied dance of the rain.

It’s been a long time since I at alone watching the world around me.

A car passes by, it’s tires make a sound like tape on the road as it passes by, leaving two wet trails.
A couple of birds get busy in a frenzied chatter, looking for a nice warm branch of a tree.
Flip-flop says the wet pair of flip-flops that go scurrying down the pavement.

No one gives a second look.
There isn’t anybody around.

It’s raining!

Are we not taught that getting drenched would mean catching a cold or a fever... I wish I had more freedom then to walk into a downpour and get drenched... But today, I conciously avoid rain, else I would soak my professional attire. That would mean get back home, change and be late to work. :o(

The least I get to do is enjoy the drizzle standing in my balcony :o)

It feels so right that somehow I know it’s wrong.

After everything is over, I guess I’m not sure whether I should to be disappointed or happy for myself.
But I know it just wasn’t right. It’s not easy to be where I am, to take things the way I have. Everyone underestimates the power of what you don’t see. Backstage is where everything happens, and, backstage is where it all begins. Just because no one sees it happening doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. But the point is… I want someone to know. Someone to know that I cant be taken for a ride, just like that. Someone to know that I haven’t been taken on a ride after all. Someone to know that I just don’t care anymore.
And finally, someone has to take the place after it all falls down. Someone has to, and someone will, so what’s the problem here?
You won’t ever know.

Well, I'm sure 'someone' would, if only you gave them half a chance... otherwise, yeah, you won't ever know.

Why don;t you just walk across and tell that someone. Sometimes the best way to make things known is to confront and open up :o) Backstage is where everything happens... But we see, feel, enjoy and complain only about the things that we are exposed to on stage... Backstagers end up becoming unsung heroes !
